Contestants will have six weeks to create their design for Nguyen Hue Flower Street 2021, from April 12, 2020. Each entry at the final round will be given VND20 million.

Next year will mark the 18th anniversary of Nguyen Hue Flower Street since the event took place in 2004. The flower street is in celebration of Tet (Lunar NewYear) in HCMC. The municipal government has assigned Saigontourist Group and related agencies to the task or working with enterprises to host the flower street.This time around, the contest is organized by Saigontourist to look for innovative and creative decoration ideas for Nguyen Hue Flower Street, an event attracting more than one million people during Tet. All competent organizations and individuals are eligible for the contest. Time for confirming information of contestants is from now until April 12, 2020. The theme for the contest is open so that contestants can freely create their own designs.Qualified contestants will be provided with the drawing of Nguyen Hue Boulevard and related references. Their task is to design the 550-meter pedestrian street stretching from Ton Duc Thang Street to the Nguyen Hue-Le Loi Intersection and the area of Ho Chi Minh Statue. The width of the flower street, around 20 meters, is limited by two rows of Loc Vung trees and benches. It will take 15 days to set up the flower street, from 7 a.m. on January 25, 2021 to 6 p.m. on February 9, 2021. It will welcome visitors from 7 p.m. on February 9, 2021 to9 p.m. on February 15, 2021.Those designs making it to the first round will receive VND30 million each. Those that make it to the final round will be given an additional amount of VND20 million.The winning design will be awarded VND200 million.
