Nguyen Hue Boulevard Floral Exhibition this Lunar New Year
Nuances of traditional cultural with a message of environmental protection
By integrating traditional culture and applying modern technology in its design, Nguyen Hue Boulevard Floral Exhibition 2020 aims to convey an aspirational message about caring for the environment and the community in a rapidly growing Ho Chi Minh City.

Nguyen Hue Boulevard Floral Exhibition 2020 is the 17th Flower Street organized for the traditional Tet holiday in the center of Ho Chi Minh City since 2004. The project is directed by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, with implementation by Saigontourist Group in collaboration with city departments and businesses in Ho Chi Minh City.

With the theme “Ho Chi Minh city - Confidently Stepping Forward,” Nguyen Hue Boulevard Floral Exhibition 2020 will be divided into three main sections, spanning nearly 700 meters on Nguyen Hue Walking Street, starting right behind the water fountain and leading to Ton Duc Thang intersection. The Flower Street is open for the enjoyment of residents and visitors to emphasize the spring and Lunar New Year atmosphere from January 22 to January 28, 2020 (Lunar Calendar: December 28 to January 4 of the new year).
Nuances of traditional culture are alive in the images of the Rat—the traditional zodiac animal for 2020—with inspiration from the Dong Ho folk painting, “The Rat’s Wedding,” that blends the culture of the Southern River Delta. The large entrance of Section I recreates the image of a family of dancing rats, crafting a joyful melody in bustling spring.

Meanwhile, Section II appear as a combination of elements related to the living environment, peace and environmental protection issues, such as recycling and waste disposal, climate change, ecological diversity, water and forest protection.
Another worthwhile sight during this year's Flower Street is the shimmering and magical “Water Forest” scene located in Section III. This is the first time on Nguyen Hue Flower Street that a forest has been combined with a water screen, creating a miniature ecosystem reminiscent of world-renowned eco-works such as “Cloud Forest” at Gardens by the Bay in Singapore or “The Green Planet” in Dubai (UAE).
Notably, for the first time in its 17 years of implementation, an online voting contest, named the “Vote for Nguyen Hue Boulevard Floral Exhibition 2020’s Favorite Photo,” will be held on the Fanpage “Đường hoa Nguyễn Huệ” and on the SCTV App. The program takes place from the night of January 22 to the end of January 30, 2020 (Lunar Calendar: December 28 to January 6). There are 15 exiting prizes in early spring for those who submit and vote for photos, with a total prize worth up to tens of millions of dong.

Nguyen Hue Boulevard Floral Exhibition is an indispensable rendezvous point for both residents and tourists, attracting more than one million visitors every Tet season. Boulevard Floral Exhibition is continuously voted onto the list of “Ho Chi Minh City - 100 interesting things,” in the category “Typical tourism events.”
