Can Tho (VNA) - The opening week of the 2008 National Tourism Year has attracted almost 300,000 visitors in Mekong Delta’s Can Tho City.

The February 21-26 week was marked with the Ninh Kieu Festival, the Street Festival, the Gastronomic - Cultural Festival and other activities which received warm welcome from both domestic and foreign visitors, said Dinh Viet Thanh, Director of the Tourism Department.

Other numerous cultural activities will also be held in neigbouring cities and provinces of Can Tho city throughout the year.

They include the Phu Quoc Tourism and Culture Week, the Nghinh Ong Festival and Oc Om Bok, the sports and cultural festival of Khmer ethnic minorities.
