Dac Lac, Mar. 10 (VNA) - The Tay Nguyen Festival-cum-Fair 2005, the largest of its kind in the region, opened in the Central Highlands province of Dac Lac on Mar. 9.

In addition to the hundreds of domestic and foreign businesses who are displaying products at 550 pavilions, local entrepreneurs will sell coffee, ruou can (wine drunk out of a jar through pipes), products made of traditional brocaded fabric and handicrafts, to visitors at 100 stands.

Moreover, the host province will also give presentations on 40 projects subjects such as farm produce processing, hydropower, tourism and infrastructure construction in order to call for investment capital from domestic and foreign investors.

On the sidelines, a series of cultural activities will be held during the event, including art performances and festivals of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands region, as well as a week-long screening of films about mountainous areas and Vietnamese ethnic groups.

Coinciding with the Tay Nguyen Festival 2005, Dac Lac province will also host a seminar entitled "The Buon Me Thuot Victory" to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the liberation of southern Viet Nam.
