This year's Hung Kings Temple Festival will be held in the mid-land province of Phu Tho from April 14-18 with a grand opening ceremony at Viet Tri stadium drawing about 3,000 performers.
Rituals in tribute to the Hung Kings will be held on April 18.
The five-day festival will also include traditional games, a painting exhibition, a fair, and art performances from all parts of the country. Three art troupes from Switzerland, the Republic of Korea and China will perform at the festival.
The festival is expected to attract about 1.5 million pilgrims and foreign visitors.
The festival, one of the largest in the country, is held annually on the tenth day of the third lunar month to commemorate the 18 Hung Kings, who are believed to be the founders of the Vietnamese nation. (VNA)
